Female employees at the Federal government will now be granted a three-month paid maternity leave under an amendment made to law 11 of 2008 by UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They will also be allowed a two-hour break four months after the delivery date to breastfeed their babies. The previous maternity leave consists of 45 days only.
Lebanon extended its maternity leave from 7 to 10 weeks few years ago.
